Domaine Porto Carras, the biggest organic vineyard in Greece, first revived the varieties Malagousia, Assyrtiko and Limnio in the late ‘60s.

Organoleptic Characteristics
Bright. Complex nose with characteristic aromas of
citrus fruits, white-fleshed fruits, acacia flowers, chamomile,
hazelnut, toasted bread, and white pepper.
Full-bodied and complex in taste,
with a long aftertaste.

Vinification
The white varieties, Malagousia and Assyrtiko, undergo
pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures and
white vinification, while Limnio is vinified as “blanc de
noir” in stainless steel tanks using special yeasts at low
temperatures. The wine remains for 9 months in new
French oak barrels with periodic stirring (batonnage).
